ASTM A53 Overview
ASTM A53/A53M covers steel pipe that may be black or hot-dip zinc-coated and welded or seamless, subject to the standard scope and ordered requirements.
What to consider
- Specify nominal size, schedule/wall, type/grade and finish required by the project.
- Galvanized and black versions should not be treated as identical for fabrication or corrosion planning.
- Pressure/service applications require the applicable engineering and code review.
- Confirm the active ASTM edition and full ordered requirements.
