Buying Guide
How to Buy Steel Pipe
Choose steel pipe by application, nominal size, wall/schedule, material specification, finish, length, quantity and processing requirements.
What to consider
- Start with the application and any engineer or code requirement.
- Specify nominal pipe size, schedule or wall thickness, grade/specification and required lengths.
- State whether black, galvanized, stainless or another material/finish is required.
- Include cutting, threading, coating, testing, certification and delivery needs in the RFQ.
- For sourceable material, price and availability should be confirmed against the exact specification before purchase.
How to request material
For the fastest quote, send the exact material description, dimensions, grade/specification if known, quantity, required processing, delivery or pickup requirements, and the date the material is needed. Drawings, cut lists and project specifications reduce ambiguity.
Availability and sourcing
Steel & Pipe Supply carries stock material and can source additional products through its distribution network. A product appearing in this resource library does not mean every size or grade is physically stocked in Tampa. Current price, manufacturer, availability and lead time are confirmed against the actual request.
